Informatics is the human-centered, problem solving bridge connecting information systems and technologies to a particular application, which in our case includes the community, municipality, public safety, and general operational activities inherent to sustaining and enhancing local government.

The Department of Informatics serves two mutually exclusive functions for the City of Westfield, IN:

Maintain the City's technological infrastructure and thereby technically support all departments in their daily activities
Provide innovative operational leadership ultimately increasing efficiencies and reducing costs

In other words, the Informatics Department both supports the present and leads the City into the future.
