Board of Zoning Appeals

The powers and duties of the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) are established by state statute. The BZA, 1) hears and decides special exceptions to the zoning ordinance, and 2) authorizes variances from the terms of the ordinance. They may also serve in an adjudicative capacity hearing appeals to decisions made by anyone charged with the enforcement of the ordinance. BZA meetings offer a public forum for community input.

The BZA meets on the Tuesday following the second Monday of each month; please refer to the meeting schedule for exact dates and times of their meetings.
