Westfield, IN- Westfield will hold a grand re-opening ceremony and ribbon cutting for the recently redesigned playground at Quaker Park this Friday, May 26.

“Westfield’s parks and trails are consistently listed as reasons why people from all over the country are moving to our community,” Mayor Andy Cook said. “I hope the whole community can make it to the celebration this Friday.”

The event will include light refreshments, face painting, a magician and games. Westfield’s very own NinjaZone Academy will also be on hand to give away a prize pack of four “Tour ’N Try” coupons. The coupons allow the winner and three of their lucky friends to come in for a one-hour trial class to run, jump and flip under the instruction of NinjaZone’s certified trainers.

“Quaker Park offers so much to the Westfield community, and to be able to design a playground that can be enjoyed by all ages was our vision,” said Melissa Guffey of Recreation inSights, the company responsible for the park’s redesign.

“You might even find the parents or grandparents hanging out on the hammock or climbing up the Explorer Dome because play doesn’t have to stop when you become an adult.”

This event will also serve as the official season opening of the splash pad.

The event lasts from 4 – 6 p.m., with the ribbon-cutting at 4:30 p.m.

Quaker Park is located at 17501 Dartown Road, behind the Westfield Public Safety Building.
