WESTFIELD FIRE, POLICE KEEPING TRICK-OR-TREATERS SAFE ON HALLOWEEN

Westfield, IN- The Westfield Fire Department and the Westfield Police Department are gearing up for Halloween, and keeping the city’s little ghouls and goblins safe in the process.

Westfield Fire will again be doing its popular Reverse Trick or Treat event this year, as they travel through neighborhoods throughout the community handing out goodies thanks to a partnership with Kroger.

All three stations in Westfield will send out a truck equipped with candy and firefighters. As the trucks make a path through the neighborhoods, firefighters make stops to hand out sweets to kids in the area.

“We will drive through as many neighborhoods as possible until the candy runs out,” says Westfield Fire Public Information Officer Nicholas Southerland.

“We only ask that parents help keep kids safe by keeping them from running up to the fire truck until we come to a complete stop,” Southerland adds.

The Westfield Police Department will be doing their part by handing out glow stick necklaces that help trick-or-treaters be seen in the dark. The department will also increase staffing levels and patrols to monitor Halloween activities.

Trick-or-treat hours for Westfield are 5 to 8 p.m., October 31.
