WESTFIELD DPW GOES ON POTHOLE OFFENSIVE

Westfield, IN – Westfield’s public works department is going on the attack as pothole season arrives in the city.

“As potholes once again become more and more prevalent thanks to the shifting temperatures, we want to encourage residents to let us know where to focus our efforts,” Mayor Andy Cook said. “We’re again encouraging residents to utilize the Report It feature on our city’s website, which will allow our public works crews to identify and fix those pesky potholes.”

This year, Westfield’s pothole crew is working with a four-ton hotbox instead of a two-ton hotbox. This means the crew can stay out in the field longer before they have to return for more product.

The department also recently invested in an asphalt recycler, which saves taxpayer dollars as the mixture that fills the pothole is made up of some of the chipped away asphalt. It has been a great resource for the street department.
