Being a native Hoosier, Steve graduated from Purdue University in 1972 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation he and his wife, Kris, moved to Newport News, Virginia where Steve worked for Newport News Shipbuilding as a Test Engineer on nuclear aircraft carriers.
After the birth of their first daughter they relocated back to Indiana where Steve was employed at the RCA/Thomson plant in Bloomington. In 1998 Steve was transferred to Thomson HQ as the Americas Quality Manager at which time they became Westfield residents. They currently live in the Richter’s Corner section of Countryside.
Over the last 15 years Steve has taken an increased interest in Town/City government. He was actively involved with Westfield's new comprehensive plan serving on several sub-committees. Upon retiring from Thomson after 29 years, he became a member of the Grand Junction Task Group and is a member of the Westfield Rotary Club and Westfield-Washington Historical Society.
He is honored to serve on the City Council and is excited about Westfield's future potential. Seeing the downtown become a thriving community gathering place will be particularly rewarding.
Steve and Kris have two grown daughters. Their oldest, Amy, lives in Westfield with her husband, Eric, and their twin sons. Ashley lives in Fishers with her husband, Lance, and their daughter. Steve enjoys golf, bicycling, woodworking, antiques, boating and spending time with their grandchildren and family.
