The Town of Westfield has announced that additional parking has been added in the downtown area to accommodate downtown merchants who are in need of parking for their employees and customers.

Specifically, two parking lots have been made available in downtown Westfield.  One located at the corner of Walnut and Penn Street, which will accommodate 12 cars, and another behind Heffern Auto at approximately SR 32 and Union Street, which will accommodate nearly 40 cars.

"These parking lots will help eliminate the parking issue downtown merchants have brought forward and ultimately help the downtown businesses to prosper, says Tom Higgins," Westfield's Senior Planner.  "The downtown business owners are excited to finally have alternative parking to help with the existing problem."   There will also be additional signage added within the next few weeks to direct drivers to the new parking areas.

These public parking lots are currently open to the downtown merchants for parking.  Illegal parking will be enforced by the Westfield Police Department.  If additional information is needed, please contact the Westfield Community Development Office at 317-896-5577.
