Westfield Police Department's Major Mike Allen announced today the promotion of five police officers.  A promotion ceremony took place at 9am last Friday to officially promote the officers, and the entire staff and the promoted officers' families watched in celebration.

At the ceremony, Sergeants Mike Seagrave and John Lowes were promoted to Lieutenants, Officers Charles Hollowell and Tim Morgan were promoted to Sergeants, and Scott Clouse was appointed as the department's fourth detective.

"We are extremely lucky to have the ability to promote within at the Westfield Police Department," says Major Allen.  "The officers promoted here today are not only exceptional at what they do, but they are all also the most qualified for the positions in which they have been promoted."

"These promotions, along with two additional promotions in December, come as a direct result of the rapid growth of Westfield," says Town Manager Jerry Rosenberger.  We must ensure that we have an adequate number of officers to keep up with the development that is occurring here in Westfield daily," says Rosenberger.  Promoted last month was Major Scott Jordan and Captain Bobbie Gorrell.

Currently, there are 34 sworn officers on staff at the Westfield Police Department along with five civilian officers.
