The Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee completed the two-year amendment process in November 2006. The process of amending the 1999 comprehensive plan began in winter of 2005, and the committee hopes that the final draft will be approved in early 2007. "This has been a long but extremely productive process," says Town Manager, Jerry Rosenberger. 

 

After the October 30^th public meeting, the Steering Committee amended the draft a final time to incorporate information gathered from the public input session. The town staff and the steering committee believe that this document includes ideas and opinions from the residents of Westfield, not just the staff and steering committee. "Over the past 24 months, the public has participated in many planning sessions and public meetings and that information has already been incorporated into the draft document," says Ann Cavaluzzi, a Town Staff Planner.
