The proposed engineering and design plans which were scheduled to commence on 151st Street between Thatcher and Carey Road have been put on hold because of the opinions expressed through our public meeting process and the need to concentrate on the erection of traffic patterns within the Village Park retail area. "The Town Council and Staff are committed to working with residents to ensure we're building what the entire community is expecting," says Andy Cook. "We hope to have several more public input sessions on this matter to ensure we are moving in the right direction," says Cook. According to the Town Council, Westfield has the obligation to make transportation needs assessments in the best interests of the entire Town and therefore, we will need to revisit this particular section in the near future.
The original proposed projects for West of US 31, including improvements to Western Way and Greyhound Pass, have not changed and are scheduled to begin this summer. The Town Council and staff have also committed to coming to a resolution with Skinner and Broadbent, the affected property owners.
