For example, there are 700,000 orphans living in Russian orphanages, 100,000 in Romania, 13 million in Africa and over 1 million in Afghanistan. 

 

The Westfield Fire Department would like to encourage Westfield residents to get involved in this program.  If you would like to donate, you can purchase a nice pair of shoes in any size and a pair of socks to go along with the shoes.  The Shoes for Orphan Souls asks donors to include a family photo and a note to a child - the children cherish the notes as much as the shoes.  Additionally, please include approximately $5 to help cover the shipping costs.

 

The goal of the Westfield Fire Department is to collect 500 pairs of shoes by September 4, 2007.  There is an information table and drop box in the lobby of the Public Safety Building located at 17535 Dartown Road and also at Station 82 at 151st Street and US 31.
