Let us not forget about our black community members (and police officers) at this time ❤️

Thank you mayor.

Thank you to our Westfield Police Officers for your dedication and service!! ❤

Did you consider the tough times black members of our community have dealt with on both macro and micro levels every single day due to centuries of oppression and systematic racism? I am thankful for our police officers and appreciate thorough and appropriate training, but as the leader of this town, you should also be calling for the support of the black community who needs our allyship and respect.

Are you kidding me with this?? The LAST thing I’m concerned about is the feelings of police officers. How about showing some concerns and solidarity with your black and brown neighbors/community in Westfield. This video is RIPE with white privilege, pro police, anti black/brown lives matter. What a disgrace.

Absolutely tone-deaf

I absolutely support our police but right now I’m more concerned about our black brothers and sisters. Let’s be more concerned for them.

It’s awesome to hear the city’s support of the Westfield police department during this stressful time of civil unrest. It’s great to hear that the Westfield police department is trained and ready to handle any possible occurrences. However, as a new homeowner in Westfield (who happens to also be Black) it would have be wonderful to hear a message that spoke to HOW local government plans to proactively address the WHY behind the civil unrest and ill regard towards police departments in the first place. I do NOT agree with looting or destroying property and I won’t make any excuses for those who break the law. However, I have personally seen the systematic discrimination and racism in police departments, in the workplace, and in social settings my entire life. My White great grandmother & Black great grandfather were almost killed by police officers in southern Indiana simply because they married someone with different skin color. While that was 90 years ago, it feels like it was yesterday. I don’t want to be afraid for my sons, husband, or brothers, every time they’re pulled over by police. But I am. It would be great to hear a message from our Mayor that speaks to calming fears, genuine care, love, and concern for ALL members of the Westfield community and how WE can heal from this. It would be great to hear a message that speaks to how WE can be united as ONE nation, under GOD, indivisible with liberty and justice for ALL. It would be great to hear a message like that.

Thank you Mayor

Save the pro-cop rhetoric Mayor. Another “look at how great we are” post. I doubt many are concerned about the feelings of the WPD right now. Enough with your cheeseball videos already. Get back to Grand Park.

And we wonder why people think there will be a second outbreak. Not wearing a mask and not 6 feet apart. Great leadership by example.

This is Awesome addition to Westfield. I Love the fact that people will be able to travel safely on the trails crossing traffic. Sports and food are booming in Westfield. Congratulations Westfield!!!

What a great addition to our expansive trail system ! 👍

People- Please don’t cough into the palm of your hand 😬

The bridge is open . Awesome. Congratulations to all who made it happen.

Very proud of those considerate citizens who are wearing their masks & standing 6 feet apart! I believe they show true responsibility during this pandemic!

So cool! Fun to see it completed and in use!

Awesome addition to Westfield

I love my city of Westfield Indiana

Very fancy and Carmelized bridge.

Happy 4th of July!

I ran across it earlier today! It’s well done and worth the wait!

Get back over to Grand Park Andy.

They are not 6 ft apart

The sign on the east side of the bridge is crooked!

So exciting!!

Congratulations!

Only 8 months late

I’m so glad it’s open!!!!

Love our mayor

Yea!

Guess I'm going to Noblesville

We will be going to Noblesville as well.

Sandy Malott Wood ☹️

Thank you for considering the health and safety of our families and kids.

I know its an unprecedented time in our history and a lose lose ... I thought fireworks might be in the cards - not the festival but the fireworks since we will be at phase 8 of the governors orders. Your fireworks are a true delight to our family ...

It’s Fireworks, I think we are smart enough to watch at our own risk! Please reconsider!

Fear mongering

Leigh Hill I spoke too soon!😥

I get it but why the fireworks?? I assume so people won’t congregate?

I understand the safety but Fireworks should still go on, maybe have everyone stay in or around their cars like a drive in!! We should learn how to schedule and work around this virus because it will be around seasonal, like the Flu.

Why can’t you at least do fireworks ?!?! Not even going to attempt celebrating our own Independence Day!?!? SHAMEFUL.

This is total BS

Given the way the year has gone and the unknowns for how this will progress and develop, it is a prudent and responsible decision. Thank you.

Just go to Noblesville, where it is happening!

Nothing like canceling the celebration of our freedoms..

Cicero is still having their Parade and Fireworks!!

Soooo silly to cance the fireworks like there’s not enough space at grand park to be “social distant” come on now

Though we’re sad to miss out, thank you for taking the health of our community seriously and protecting our neighbors!

Congrats Westfield, you just bowed to the agenda

Did anyone else notice they said “financial concerns”???? We have lost millions from Grand Park. There is probably no money for them.

Booooooooo

Michael Wheeler

This is utterly rediculous. Have you looked at the numbers? We have been level headed until now. I hope this is reconsidered. I encourage everyone to call city hall and voice your displeasure!

Wow! Terrible move City of Westfield - Government. Sad to see you doing this! Promote facts not fear! There is no reason to cancel the fireworks!

😑😑😑😑😑😑
