Westfield, IN – April 16, 2018- Today Westfield Mayor Andy Cook and representatives from Legacy Fund announced the establishment of the Westfield Endowment Fund. The $95,000 unrestricted fund will be used to provide grants to organizations within Westfield. The Westfield Endowment Fund is made possible by a major gift from the Paul and Judy Estridge Family Foundation at Legacy Fund and numerous individual donors in the community.

“This is an important day in our community because every dollar in the Westfield Endowment Fund represents an opportunity to impact somebody’s life,” said Mayor Cook. “The fund will allow many of our local non-profits to expand the meaningful work they do every day.”

Mayor Cook also announced the Westfield City Council committed an additional $10,000 to the endowment and encouraged the community to match the gift. The Westfield Endowment Fund will be managed by Legacy Fund, which manages $68 million in assets, including a large countywide unrestricted endowment that awards grants to local not-for-profits.

The Legacy Fund, the Central Indiana Community Foundation affiliate serving Hamilton County, is also home to two other community-specific funds that support programs and initiatives serving Sheridan and Noblesville. A grant committee comprised of residents from each city in Hamilton County makes grant recommendations for the Legacy Fund board of directors to approve three times a year.

Individuals or organizations interested in making a gift into the Westfield Endowment Fund can contact Brittany Rayburn, Legacy Fund director of development by emailing

Organizations with 501(c)3 status that are interested in applying for a grant can learn about the grant timeline and process on the Legacy Fund website.
