Westfield, IN – Mayor Andy Cook announced Aptiv, a leading technology company enabling the future of mobility, plans to open an engineering lab in Westfield, bringing dozens of highly-skilled jobs to the area. Work in Aptiv’s engineering lab will focus on developing next-generation technology for connected vehicles.

“The team at Aptiv will be working on future-focused technology and I could not be more excited to welcome them to Westfield,” said Mayor Cook. “These are exactly the types of high-tech investments we have been working to attract. This is a statement that our community can attract a diverse workforce to support this kind of innovation.”

“Aptiv is leading the development of advanced technologies that will make the world safer, greener, and more connected,” said A.J. Lasley, Director of Advanced Safety & User Experience at Aptiv. “We chose Westfield due to its location, business-friendly environment and quality of life. We want to thank Mayor Cook for his support and look forward to being a part of Westfield’s community.”

Aptiv will bring 50 highly-skilled jobs to Westfield at an annual salary of approximately $80-thousand. The company will lease 53,000 square feet inside the Westfield Business Centre and invest more than $9 million in property and equipment. Work in the engineering lab will include environmental testing, product/material analysis and on-vehicle development. The Westfield City Council approved a 5-year personal property tax abatement phased in at 20% a year.

With the addition of the Aptiv’s engineering lab, the Westfield Business Centre, a 133,000 square foot spec building which opened in October 2018, is now fully leased. Other tenants in the Westfield Business Centre include Grinds LLC, ETI Fab and 3rd Dimension Industrial Printing.
