From US-31, turn east on 161st Street. Take the first right onto South Union Street/Westfield Blvd., and the park will be on the east side of the road. From SR-32, turn south on Union Street, and drive approximately 1.5 miles. Union Street turns into Westfield Blvd. The park will be on the east side of the street, just past 161st Street.

About This Location

Established in 2002, Liberty Park is a passive parkland located at the southeast corner of 161st street and South Union Street, adjacent to Cool Creek. This wetland mitigation site was developed to help with water quality and management. Liberty Park features a boardwalk with interpretive signage, leading to an observation deck overlooking the wooded wetlands and a gazebo constructed using materials reclaimed from an 1830s barn once located off of 146th Street. The gravel parking area allows for easy access to the Natalie Wheeler trail, located just across the street from the park.
